This is a very REAL conversation I just had with a...
me: my husband beats me and I htought the pill would protect me from having a child but I'm pregnant and I don't want top bring my baby up in this home but I have no other family and no money outside of my husband, who is abusive and horrible to me. I'm considering abortion.
lady from crisis center: well...have you tried counseling or praying with your husband for a better relationship and understanding of each other? because there have been 5 deaths since the abortion pill was approved by the FDA alone. It's no easier than a medical abortions. You have to see the Dr. several times and you literally have to watch your baby expel out of your vagina. You probably still have to get a surgical abortion because it doesn't really work. You could hemorrhage and die.
me: .....okay. what about surgical?
lady from center: all of these 5 ladies could not be saved. with a surgical abortion the dr opens the cervix and suctions the baby apart and out of you. After, the dr. takes a loop shaped knife to scrape the rest of the body parts off of your uterus. At 6-14 weeks with dialation and evacuation your fetus will be too large to be broken up by suction and will not pass through the suction..
me: I'm just trying to be educated. You want me to have a choice right?
lady: Yes, of course. The choice of adoption or keeping your baby.
me: okay...
lady: after opening the cervix the dr pulls out your fetus with forceps and the baby's skull is crushed to ease removal.
me: wow...that all sounds so awful.
lady: at 3 0r 4 weeks the little heart starts to beat. could you really kill your baby after hearing it's heart beat? would you like to see your baby? we can give you a free ultra sound.
lady: she is giving me all the horrible things that can happen with abortions in extreme cases. even suggestiong it can give me breast cancer.
me: ma'm? I'm curious as to where you get such detailed info about arbortions?

me: wow....I just had one more question here. is it your goal to give women these horrifying and untrue facts to scare them into having a baby that could potentially kill or ruin their lives? You giving these women completely false information and LYING to them to coerce them into having a baby they can't afford or have no support and that is VERY un-Christian of you. How many of these babies have YOU adopted?
lady: myself?
me: Yes how many have YOU adopted?
lady: well I haven't adopted any babies but one lady here has.
me: Really? And what is your success rate of getting women to go along with this?
lady: about 75%
me: and how many of those babies has your "crisis" center personally cared for financially and emotionally?
lady: well....none
me: So, you think it's appropriate to LIE to women who are already in a very fragile state. You're not giving them FACTS. You're feeding them scare tactics and berating them with a soft voice. How very un-Christian of you. I hope you sleep well at night.
